India will be the first country to see brand new 2015 Ford Figo. Sedan is going to precede the hatchback version, which is about to be launched with few months of delay. However, new model will be different from its predecessors. It is expected from new Figo to be competitive and popular. This compact sedan, and later hatchback, are going to be modern and pretty economical. However, US buyers could get this model after some time, but schedule is not released yet.
2015 Ford Figo engine
Engine specifications have been leaked already. Design is not known as powertrain, but there are some highlights from spy shots. We have heard that 2015 Ford Figo will be packed with same engine as current model. It is 1.2-l petrol unit, but for 2015 model will be enhanced. New feature is variable cam timing (TiVCT) which should boost fuel economy, as well as power. However, improvement from current 75 PS (73 hp) won’t be significant, probably around 10 PS (10 hp) more.
2015 Ford Figo diesel
Other option for 2015 Ford Figo is diesel engine. It is 1.5-litre TDCi, which is currently used for Fiesta and few EcoSport models. That means old 1.4-l will be dropped. However, diesel engine offers more power. It will deliver around 91 PS (89 hp). Drivers will be happy with news that engineers have improved this option for highway conditions, after negative reviews for previous model. Transmission for both options is 5-speed manual.
2015 Ford Figo redesign
Thanks to the spy photographers, we can predict some parts of new 2015 Ford Figo. First photos have shown us sedan with heavy camouflage covers on it. We could see angular grille and headlamps, while there are not many changes on the outside lines. Rear part is untouched, and many fans will be disappointed with it. First rumors say that looks unfinished. Inside, new 2015 Figo will have similar equipment as EcoSport model. We still don’t know if hatchback is going to follow same design, but Figo’s styling is far from exciting. However, when it hows up, probably in September, it is going to compete with Maruti Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Tata Bolt, among other vehicles.
