The 2018 Ford Explorer is a upcoming crossover from American company, made for North American market, but it will hi dealerships in many other countries. Its design, attractive price, and what is most important – reliable engine, will lure buyers to check new vehicle. Multi-purpose SUV can be used for transporting people or cargo ever since it was presented during 1990’s. Now, it is all at some higher level. For 2018 Explorer designers haven’t prepared some radical changes, but it will be exciting to see what upgrades will be applied on new crossover.

Since upcoming SUV is going to use same platform as its predecessor, design is also the same, while minor cosmetic touches are expected on the exterior. Ford could use more lightweight materials for body structure, making the 2018 Ford Explorer lighter, and on the other side, not worse performer. Architecture is made of aluminum, and mileage is now better than before. Lines on the back of the crossover are slightly changed, making Explorer more streamlined and aggressive. MyFord infotainment system is highlight of the cabin, while also we should mention superb comfort boosted by leather seats and many other details.

Under the hood of the 2018 Ford Explorer will be V6 unit, and carmaker is probably giving another run for the 3.5-l powerplant. With it, new crossover could deliver 260 horses and 300 lb-ft of torque. New drivetrains could be 2.0-l I-4 or V6 EcoBoost engines. First one will be more economical, with less power offered from its four cylinders, while EcoBoost unit is going over 350 of production of both horsepower and torque. Front wheels are getting the power through six-speed transmission, and AWD is optional, as well as 10-speed gearbox which should be out by 2018.

New 2018 Ford Explorer is going to be offered in few trim levels, including base, XLT, Limited, Sport and Platinum. Current vehicle costs just under $32,000, while the highest end goes over $50,000. Crossover should arrive before 2018, probably at the one of the biggest car shows, but we don’t have anything confirmed yet from the company.
