2018 Ford Bronco
This legendary SUV is coming back as 2018 Ford Bronco, according to latest reports. As you probably know, this model isn’t in production for over two decades, and it should be a big comeback of legendary nameplate. Original model came in 1966 and it was in production for full three decades, until 1996. During all these years, we have seen five generations of this iconic SUV. Most of them were full-size SUVs, while latest reports claim that 2018 Bronco will be a little bit smaller. It will probably come as mid-size vehicle, sharing platform with Ford Ranger. While most of reports suggest 2020 as year of launch, some more optimistic suggest that new model could come already next year.
2018 Ford Bronco redesign
The 2018 Ford Bronco will be a completely new model. It will be big revival of legendary nameplate, which was in production for full three decades. After more than twenty years of brake, we should once again see it on the roads. So far, we don’t have so many specific details about new model. For now, it is for sure that new model will be a mid-size SUV, and it will take the place below Expedition. This is the place that Explorer held until 2011, when it came completely redesigned and became a crossover. We are pretty sure that 2018 Ford Bronco will share most of its characteristics with another returnee, mid-size pickup truck Ford Ranger. These two models will ride on same platform and share pretty much complete mechanical part of the car. When it comes to visual appearance, we still don’t know how new model will look exactly.
2018 Ford Bronco engines
When it comes to powertrain, we still don’t know exact details. However, since 2018 Ford Bronco will share the platform with Ranger, it should also use same engines. Current Ranger comes with one gasoline and two diesel units in offer. However, we believe that new SUV could come with some additional gasoline unit, from EcoBoost family of engines. That should be some of six-cylinder units that company installs in various vehicles. When it comes to transmission, expect both manual and automatic gearboxes in offer
