2016 Lincoln MKS
Another second generation Lincoln MKS car is coming in 2016. Vehicle wasn’t unveiled yet, but carmakers provided some information about new sedan. This vehicle is very important for the company, which wants to get back on market tracks in US. However, there is a tough way to it, but with 2016 Lincoln MKS it is possible. It won’t be easy, because many other companies have already established their cars. New Lincoln MKS has to beat LaCrosse from Buick and XTS model made by Cadillac. Also, there is new Lexus ES.
2016 Lincoln MKS engine
Base models of the 2016 Lincoln MKS come packed with new drivetrain. It is 2.9-liter EcoBoost V6. This unit has a codename Nano, comparing to already used 3.5-l EcoBoost V6 engine. Other one is better performer, offering over 370 hp. Exact number is not released yet. Smaller, 2.9-l will go up to 300 hp. Transmission paired to both drivetrains is 6-speed auto. However, it is possible that new Lincoln MKS comes with new gearbox. Rumors are telling it could be nine-speed auto made bu GM and Ford. However, power will be sent to front wheels, and Lincoln left an offer for all-wheel drive system for cars with bigger, 3.5-l V6 unit.
2016 Lincoln MKS redesign
New 2016 Lincoln MKS will use a lot of styling solutions from other vehicles of same company. That includes even crossover MKC with some lines on windows. Also, there are some similarities with MKZ sedan and some other vehicles, but in the mix, this makes new 2016 MKS very unique and attractive car. Interior will get all latest technology and upholstery of finest materials. Depending on trim level and chosen drivetrain, there will be more or less equipment in new vehicle.
2016 Lincoln MKS concept and price
This car will share its platform with Ford Taurus, which is very similar to some Volvo concepts. However, there are strong influences from other Ford models, mainly Flex, but also Explorer. It is big and robust car, but not so fuel efficient. However, when it appears during 2015, 2016 Lincoln MKS is expected to have $42.000 price tag on it. This should be offer for base models, while every higher end model costs more. There are still no information about trim levels for new Lincoln MKS.
