2015 Ford F-150

This could be Ford’s year, because they are about to launch many updates and redesigned vehicles. Among them is, probably the most popular towing truck in US, the F-150. Upgraded, with better tow and payload ratings, bed size and fuel economy, this vehicle is ready to hit the market later this year. Expectations are big, especially for this model, and it could happen that 2015 Ford F-150 steal the show this year in truck market shadowing all others. Most important change is related to consumption rate, since new materials are used to build new F-150 and with it, Ford is keeping the pace with modern flows.

Aluminum panels are much easier than parts that were used before. Frame will be made of high-strength steel for longer durability. That will take some pounds from 2015 Ford F-150 which will lead to better MPG rate, but at no cost at performance end. It is not official yet, but rumors say that 500 pounds will be saved comparing to previous model. With such large change, we expect many others, almost certain that new Ford F-150 will get new engine. However, estimated fuel economy boost could be from 5-20 percent. Changes for the 2015 Ford F-150 could be radical. It all starts with weight drop, but cause changes on other ends. Smaller vehicle needs smaller engine, but with not too much power lose. So far we know that base drivetrain has been carried over to 2015 model. Of course, there will be few updates to that. So, 3.5-l V6 is the unit you will find under standard 2015 F-150 truck. This engine delivers 283 hp and is capable to tow up to 7,600 lbs. Second option is 2.7-l turbocharged V6 with 325 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque, and towing set to 8,500 pounds. Other two options are more expensive. A 5.0-l V8 offers more power, 385 hp, and twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 delivers 365 hp. Towing numbers are higher for models with last two powertrains installed. All options are mated to 6-speed automatic gearbox and 4×4 and 4×2 configurations.
