2018 Ford Police Interceptor
Despite the fact that North American Taurus will end its production soon, it looks like 2018 Ford Police Interceptor will continue for another few years. This is a special version of familiar large sedan, and it is in production for over six years. It came in 2011, as replacement for legendary Crown Victoria and it shares most of its characteristics with regular Taurus sedan, which will be retires next year. However, this version will probably stay for some more time. Simply, this model is still much wanted among police. Moreover, this version marks better sales results than commercial version in last few years. This is probably the main reason why 2018 Police Interceptor will continue without bigger change.

As we already mentioned, 2018 Ford Police Interceptor come without bigger changes. Company will continue with this model, which is a special version of familiar Taurus sedan. These two models share many characteristics. They ride on the same D3 Platform, which company used for many full-size models from Ford and Lincoln in last more than 10 years. Also, they feature pretty much the same styling. It is worth to mention that this version comes with many of company’s latest technologies. For example, there are many safety features, such as Blind Spot Information System, a rearview camera, reverse sensing system, electronic stability control etc.
2018 Ford Police Interceptor engines
When it comes to powertrain, there are several variants in offer. First one is 3.7 liter V6 unit borrowed from Mustang, which is good for 305 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Next one is 3.5 liter V6 Cyclone, which is good for 288 horsepower. There is another V6 variant in offer. It is a 3.5 EcoBoost unit, which is much more efficient than Cyclone engines, and has max output of 365 horsepower. All engines come in pair with 6-speed automatic transmission. While models with 3.7 liter unit and 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine come with AWD, models with 3.5 Cyclone are available both in FWD and AWD configurations. Also, there is a four-cylinder version, which is designed for detective and administrative use. These models feature 2.0 liter engines, with 240 horses.
