2017 Ford Raptor
Ford F-150 is by far the best-selling pickup truck around. New, thirteenth-generation mode was launched last year and it is available as 2015 Ford F-150. This truck is available in many variants and probably the most attractive one is Raptor. This is a high-performance off-road truck which was originally launched in 2010. Now it is turn for the model that will be based on new-generation F-150. This model has been presented already on recent International Auto Show in Detroit and just like its predecessor it will be characterized by many unique details that will separate it from standard model. It will come as 2017 Ford Raptor, somewhere in 2016.

Although it will have many unique details, 2017 Ford Raptor will still be heavily based on 2015 F-150. Just like standard model, it will use company’s new platform so, most of the parts will be made of light materials like aluminum and high-strength steel. This will provide a weight loss probably around 500 pounds. When it is about unique features, 2017 Raptor will have slightly modified grille, reshaped headlights, new-designed wheels etc. It will be also wider for about 6 inches and it will feature specially-designed suspension with much longer travel. Interior also suffers some changes, compared to standard model. The 2017 Ford Raptor will feature door panels design, leather-trimmed steering wheel, two-tone seats, carbon fiber trim etc. It will use new Sync 3 infotainment system and it will be equipped with navigation system, automatic climate control, many phone apps, Bluetooth connection, USB ports and many other.
2017 Ford Raptor engine
The biggest change, compared to previous-generation model, will be under the hood. The 2017 Ford Raptor will come with new engine. Large and thirsty V8 will be replaced with smaller V6 unit. It will be a 3.5 liter V6 EcoBoost engine, which is far more advanced and produces similar amount of power but with much better fuel efficiency. This engine will be paired with new 10-speed automatic transmission, which will also feature paddle shifter if you want manual control. The 2017 Raptor will have six drive modes – Normal, Street, Weather, Mud and Sand, Baja and Rock.
2017 Ford Raptor release date
The 2017 Ford Raptor was presented recently on Detroit auto show. However, production model won’t come before 2016 and expected launch date is somewhere in the fall of same year.
