2017 Ford Fusion
This is a mid-size car, which was originally launched in 2005 in North America. After eight years of production, company decided to launch second generation, but this time on global market. After Focus and Fiesta, Ford Fusion became a third model that follows company’s Global-car strategy, which excludes local-based models. Second generation came completely redesigned and instantly became hugely popular all over the world. Although it is produced only for few years and sales results become better every year, company already prepares a refreshed version, which is expected to come in near future, probably as 2017 Ford Fusion.
2017 Ford Fusion changes
The 2017 Ford Fusion will come with several major changes. When it is about outside look, there will be many new things. Naturally, most changes will be on the front end, where refreshed model will feature modernized front fascia with new grille and headlights. Side glass areas will be modified too, where small corner window on the front will be ditched. However, most important changes for 2017 Fusion will be inside. Interior will come in new style, which will feature higher-quality materials, matte-finish wood trim and it will give more luxurious overall impression. It will also get revisited control board and new steering wheel. According to rumors, current Microsoft SYNC infotainment system will be replaced with new Blackberry QNX system.
2017 Ford Fusion engine
It all indicates that 2017 Ford Fusion will come with same engine options. Beside standard 2.5 liter Duratec engine with 175 horses and 175 lb-ft of torque, there are three EcoBoost units. The first one is 1.6 liter that makes 182 hp and 184 lb-ft and it is available only with manual gearbox. The second engine is 1.5 liter EcoBoost which outputs 178 horses and 177 lb-ft of torque and it comes as automatic-transmission alternative to 1.6 liter unit. Finally, there is a 2.0 liter inline-four EcoBoost engine with 240 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque. When it is about transmission, current model both with six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission, but there are rumors that 2017 Ford Fusion could get new nine-speed automatic transmission, which Ford develops together with General Motors.
2017 Ford Fusion release date and price
This model is still in testing phase so it is hard to predict more precise date of launch. However, it is pretty much for sure that it will come in late 2016 or early 2017 as 2017 Ford Fusion. Price will probably remain unchanged.
