2017 Ford Escape
The Escape is a compact crossover, which was originally launched in 2000. Original model came as results of joint development of Ford and Mazda. Same case was with second-generation model which came in 2007, so Escape and its relative Mazda Tribute once again shared most of the parts. Unlike first two models, third generation of Escape came completely designed by Ford. It came in 2012 and it was developed in Europe. However, company already works on some modifications, which are expected to come with 2017 Ford Escape. New model will come with significant changes such as new look, improved interior, many new hi-tech features etc.
2017 Ford Escape redesign
The 2017 Ford Escape will come refreshed. This means you should expect many visual improvements. Naturally, main changes will be on the front end. In order to provide much more attractive look, front fascia will be adapted to the company’s new design language, which means that 2017 Escape get new bigger grille with lower air intakes and reshaped headlights. Front bumper will be modified too, while rear end is expected to remain pretty much the same with only some minor tweaks. Interior isn’t expected to suffer bigger changes, but some minor dashboard modification is possible. Most of the changes will refer on some new standard features like leather seats, for example, which will now be available in lower trims. Same case is with safety features – airbag system, stability controls, traction and antilock brakes system and many other comes as standard, while rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitors and the cross traffic alerts will be optional.
2017 Ford Escape engines
Engine line-up for 2017 Ford Escape is expected to remain unchanged. The base unit will be 2.5 liter engine that makes 168 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. There are also two EcoBoost units in offer. The first one is 1.6 liter that outputs 178 hp and 184 lb-ft, while other one is 2.0 liter that generates 240 horses and 270 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with 6-speed automatic transmission and 2017 Ford Escape is available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.
2017 Ford Escape release date and price
Exact release date and price are still unknown. However, it is expected that 2017 Ford Escape will come in the second half of 2016, with the price similar as for the current model, which starts around 23.000 dollars.
