2016 Ford Everest
The Everest is a mid-size SUV produced by Ford Motor Company in Thailand. It was originally launched in 2003 and so far, we have seen two generations of it. Second generation, which came in 2006, will be finally retired and we will see new, third-generation model on the roads very soon. Redesigned model was already presented and it is expected that production model will come in near future as 2016 Ford Everest. This model is based on Ford Ranger pickup and it is completely developed by Ford Motor Company of Australia, although it is built in Thailand. Redesigned model will come with new look, better off-road capabilities, much better equipped interior and many other improvements.
2016 Ford Everest specs
The 2016 Ford Everest will come with new design. It will feature three rows of seats, capable to accommodate seven passengers. It also comes with new much modern look, although it will keep conventional square look. Most of the modifications are naturally on the front end, which features new trapezoidal grille, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and new, sportier bumper with installed fog lights. Rear end also comes with changes which include angular LED taillights and many other.
Interior of 2016 Ford Everest comes with many improvements too. There will be new instrument panel and dashboard, new steering wheel, eight-way adjustable powered and heated front seats, 8.0-inch touchscreen, Ford’s SYNC 2 infotainment system etc. It also comes with many drive-assist features such as cruise control, active park assist, blind spot information system, auto braking, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, roll stability control and many other.
2016 Ford Everest engines
Just like its predecessor, 2016 Ford Everest will be offered both in diesel and petrol variants. There will be two diesel engines in offer – the first one is 2.2 liter four-cylinder Duratorq engine with around 115 horses and probably best fuel efficiency in class. The other one is a five-cylinder 3.2 liter Duratorq, which outputs around 200 horses and 350 pound-feet of torque. When it is about petrol engine, it seems that current 2.5 liter Duratec will be replaced with more advanced 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine with around 240 horses and 270 lb-ft of max torque. The 2016 Everest will be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift manual mode.
2016 Ford Everest release date and price
It is expected that 2016 Ford Everest will hit the market during this year. Price is expected to remain in similar range. Current Everest starts around 45.000 Australian dollars.
