2015 Ford S-Max
In the class of Multi-purpose vehicles, which are very popular nowadays, especially in Europe, Ford plays very important role. There are several models in this segment and one of them is S-Max which is placed between compact C-max and large Galaxy. It was launched in 2006 and it is the company’s first model that featured new Kinetic design language, which features new angular headlights and trapezoid grilles. However, after eight years of production, it is time for replacement. The 2015 Ford S-Max comes as second-generation model, completely redesigned, with many significant improvements both in visual and technical aspects.
2015 Ford S-Max specs
This model was firstly presented as concept in 2013, while serial production model has been presented on the last Auto Show in Paris, in October 2014. The 2015 Ford S-Max now rides on new platform called CD4, which is used for several new models such as Ford Fusion, Ford Edge, Lincoln MKZ etc. The first-generation model was designed especially for the European market, but new model could easily be offered for U.S. market too, although we didn’t get confirmation yet. The original model was produced in Belgium and Russia but since assembly in Genk has been closed, the production will probably be moved to Spain, although it is only our presumption. The 2015 Ford S-Max will carry on as seven-seater and it will also feature “Fold Flat System”, which is considered as one of the car’s main trumps, which allows the second and third-row seats to fold into the floor, leaving additional storage space. Other notable features are massage function for the seats, electrically adjustable steering column, hands-free tailgate etc.
The 2015 Ford S-Max is also equipped with high-tech features such as automatic parking system for parallel and perpendicular spots, blind spot and cross traffic warning systems, lane-keep assist system and other stuff. Just like with the original model, there will be many variants offered, when it is about engines. The 2015 S-Max will be powered with wide range of 4-cylinder engines, both gasoline and diesel-powered, while the power will be delivered through either manual or automatic transmission. For the first time, this MVP will come with optional all-wheel drive system.
2015 Ford S-Max release date
As we already said, the 2015 Ford S-Max was presented last October in Paris and it is expected that it will arrive on the European market this summer. There are also indications that new model will be available in North America too.
