2015 Ford Focus RS
New Ford Focus RS have been seen at Nirburgring last year, doing final tests before launching. As we could see, there will be big redesign. It was notable even under heavy camouflage. However, some details are still hidden, especially front bumper and part of the hood. Also, we saw some new updates which will surprise fans. Anyway, we still have some time to wait before unveiling of the 2015 Ford Focus RS.
2015 Ford Focus RS redesign
First thing that caught our attention on 2015 Ford Focus RS is new front grille. With its shape, it bears an uncanny resemblance to the Aston Martin vehicles. As front and rear grille wears heavy camouflage, we assume there are changes to. However, these parts stayed under the mask, so we can’t tell what it is about. We are sure that these are completely replaced with new parts. Other updates known to us are Revoknuckle front suspension, made for longer durability and to take control over high power and torque levels. There are also specific limited -slip differential and beefed-up brakes and tires. Cabin is sporty. The 2015 Focus RS comes with 5 doors and other parts are mostly similar to regular model of the car.
2015 Ford Focus RS engine
We believe that new 2015 Ford Focus RS will use 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine, which is capable to deliver around 250 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. New Focus RS will use four-wheel drive system, as engineers said, copied from Kuga. However, it could have complications installing same system at sport car. However, we expect that everything will be fixed by the day of the launch. That’s why new suspension could come useful. Other powertrain placed under the hood of 2015 Focus RS could be 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit. This drivetrain could deliver 330 horsepower with some fine tuning. Last mentioned engine is 2.5-litre five-pot that has 301hp, or almost 350 in tuned RS500 model. It will benefit on the performance ends from turbo and direct-injection technologies.
2015 Ford Focus RS price and competition
Improved 2015 Ford Focus RS will spark sport car segment. There, this car will face tough competition with Renault Megane Renaultsport, and German representatives BMW M135i and Volkswagen Scirocco R. All these cars are near with their quality, equipment, price and power, so it is impossible to say which one is car to chase. However, base models of Focus RS shouldn’t cost more than $23,000, or else it will go through rough way to get to the top.
